Favorites Creations from Paper House Productions

It's hard to believe but it has been two years since I started my design team adventure with Paper House Productions!  It seems like a good time to look back and reflect on some of my favorites that I have created in that time!  So today I am sharing with you a compilation post of old projects!

You can check out the original project by clicking on the link below it!

End of Summer Beach Layout

I'm so thankful for the time I have had with Paper House and look forward to continuing to work with their goodies!  Designing for a company you love is great but what's even better is one that you make projects for you that you love.  That doesn't always happen and there's a reason I have wanted to stick around with Paper House! I can always make something I love with their stuff and there is little more fulfilling than that!

Majken http://chocoscrapaholic.blogspot.com/ *** Head Here Next***

And here's my layout for this month:
This is a picture that I have been wanting to scrap for months!  It's not a big moment but one of those little ones that will get lost in my memory without it documented.  My 2 year old son LOVES to play with the Infinity characters.  That started over Christmas when my dad was in town.  He would say "Grandpa play Good Guys Bad Guys with Bo." They played it for hours each day.  And then he continued to play with them for about a month.  I put them away when he lost interest, but guess what....he found them the other day and has been back at it!

I used the "Made of Awesome" line from Cocoa Vanilla and really like it!  They are a newer company and have some absolutely fabulous designs!

As a Thank You for stopping by today I am going to do a giveaway of a $10 gift certificate to SRM Stickers!
You can do any or all of the following to enter:
1) Like my Scrapping with Christine facebook page
2) Follow me on Instagram @cameyer71
And lastly leave me a comment to let me know which you have done!

This giveaway will remain open until 11:59 pm on September 5th!  I will announce a winner within a couple days.

Now hop on over to the talented Majken's blog!

DIY Menu Board

Who loves Vinyl? I do, I do! Who loves Patterns? I do, I do! Srm's new patterned vinyl combines both of those and it is fabulous! I am up over at SRM Stickers today to share a DIY menu board that uses the new patterned vinyl along with their chalkboard markers!
I purchased a black scallop chalkboard from the craft store to use as my base.  I then busted out my Red Dots vinyl to use for my title and days of the week.  They cut perfectly on the Silhouette Cameo!

I wanted to add our family name to it and thought the Black Dot vinyl would look neat.  It didn't have the contrast I was hoping for so I outlined it with a White Chalk Marker.

There are several Chalk Marker colors available from the store.  I decided to go with a blue for a patriotic color scheme for now.  But later in the year you could change it up with colors to fit the season we are in! As you can see, I added a little doodling too!

This was a super simple project that could be well utilized in any home.  Check out all the different patterned vinyls to find one that would fit your style!

Back to School Chalkboard

The kids are heading back to school and I have an easy craft to share with you today that is perfect for that first day of school!  It’s a Back to School Chalkboard featuring Paper House Productions Puffy Owl Stickers!

I have enjoyed seeing all the cute pictures and signs that kids are holding on their first/last day of school over the last couple years.  But despite my own craft skills, I have never made one of my own!  So this year I dug into my Paper House stickers and created a one of a kind version for my daughter.

I picked up a chalkboard at a big box store for less than $3.  And you can probably do even better on price than that, I’m just limited where I live!  I added in a little chalkboard art (not my strength, not even close!)

I then got out my stickers - the Owls Puffy Stickers, the Picture Perfect Cork’d Stickers, and a stack of books from the Graduation Day 3D Stickers.  I didn’t want to go for the traditional apple look for the first day and I thought the owls would be a perfect fit!

I did more stickers on the opposite corner using the same sets of stickers and playing up the owl theme more!

This was an easy and cheap project to do - so if you've been thinking about making one - get your stuff together and give it a whirl!

Summer Cards

I had a few odds and ends left over from my August Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook so I decided to do some playing and make some cards!  I always love to use my scraps up this way but don't always have the chance to do it!  Here's the three I created!

On this one I was going for playing up some of the patterns in the paper.  I fussy cut the wave lines and chevrons to create layers of "ruffles."  The layers are popped up with foam adhesive.  I added in yellow circles to bring in a different element and be able to add in that fun beach ball!

I decided to create a little scent on this one using the green chevron paper to look like grass and adding a sunshine.  The wooden frame in the background just added a little extra interest and the perfect backdrop for my sentiment.

For this last one I really wanted to incorporate the chipboard banner pieces that I hadn't yet used.  I played around with them in different formations and came up with this diagonal down the center of the card.  The sweet ice cream cones were perfect additions since I had an ice cream cone on one of the banner pieces!

I hope you've had a great weekend!  I'll be back with lots of projects to share this week!

My Creative Scrapbook Vacation Layout

I have one more vacation layout to share with you using the Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook this month.  This one focuses on our last day of travels when we visited the Poconos in Pennsylvania.
The Main Kit this month includes clear overlays with gold and silver foil accents!  Super cool!  I added one to the picture of us.  The layout is built around rounded edge squares using several of the patterned papers.  Most of the papers are from Carta Bella!  I love that they are patterned but subtle so they add color without taking over!  After adding stickers and embellishments it still needed something - that's when I decided to add a stitched circle.  Something about these kits makes me want to hand stitch and I love that!  It adds such a personal touch!  I have also learned to do it while I am watching tv or riding somewhere, so I don't have to spend my precious time at my desk doing it.

If you haven't had a chance yet to snag a Main Kit - head over to My Creative Scrapbook soon!  They will sell out!

And while you are at it!  My Creative Scrapbook is giving away two kits over on Instagram.
You can find them under username @mycreativescrapbookofficial - go check it out and see if you can't win one!

Using Lace on a Layout

The new lace from SRM can be used for so many different things and today I am going to show you how I used it to create the background of a layout!

I was inspired with the wider 4 inch white lace to try and use it as the backing to a cut file.  I laid out the lace onto a square piece of cardstock and adhered it.  I then used a fabric adhesive on the back of the cut file and attached the cut file to the lace.

I love the delicate and feminine touch it adds not to mention texture that you just can't get from paper!

I also used several other pieces from SRM Stickers to make this layout special.  I added a gold lace doily behind my picture to give it a base and to add to my color scheme.  And I created a unique border for the whole layout using different white sticker stitches.  I think the sticker stitches are a really nice complement to the lace with a feminine feel! I used white stitches from the Valentine's Sticker Stitches and Christmas Sticker Stitches.

My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club Layouts - Vacation Layouts Day

Today's Vacation Layouts focus on our time in Maine!  I have a lot more to do on that time because I took a ton of pictures and have a lot to share but it's a start at least :).  This first one uses the Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook!  I used it to build a scene with ocean waves and sunshine.
I loved the cute little whales in the kit but it's not my style to haphazardly place things.  And whales needed a place.  So I did some tearing and created waves.  Then those little whales had a home :).  I added the sunshine and stitching above the pictures.

This second layout is from the Main Kit and highlights some of the richer colors in the kit this month.  One of my favorite ways to use patterned paper right now is to do 1/3 of my layout with one paper and 2/3 of the other.  It creates a unique background and can add a lot of contrast.  If you look back at my layouts over the last several months you will see me do that a lot!  I knew the rich blues in the striped paper were going to be perfect for a beach picture so I definitely wanted to include that!

Anniversary Trip Layouts: Day 2 & 3 - My Creative Scrapbook

Yesterday I shared the first two layouts from our Anniversary Trip using the kits from My Creative Scrapbook this month! Today I have two more to share with you!

First up is the second Day Two Layout:
Around the time I was working on this layout I realized how hard it is to get a decent photo of my dear hubby's bald head.  Oy!  I refuse to discount trip photos because they aren't perfect though, especially when the memories are so priceless!  For this layout I used the Main Kit and used pieces from Carta Bella and a little Pink Paislee too.  I love how whimsical it turned out :)

Day 3 was a lot of driving!  But we did make a stop in Boston to check out Fenway Park. This layout  uses the Creative Kit and lots of goodies from Fancy Pants.  I wanted to incorporate that cool Anchor paper somewhere and a layout about Boston seemed very appropriate!

Anniversary Trip Layouts

My hubby and I were blessed to travel to the Northeast for our anniversary in June.  I took advantage of the summer/travel themes in this month's kits from My Creative Scrapbook to get started documenting the trip.  So each day I will be sharing a layout or two in consecutive order from our trip!  First up is Day One and it features the colorful Creative Kit!
Our day one was mostly driving but we did stop and spend a couple hours at Niagara park.  Now here's the thing, I do not enjoy scrapping landscape pictures. I really strongly prefer people pictures.  So nearly all my pages will be focused on pics of me and my hubby in the location.  That's just what I like to do :). This kit features Fancy Pants, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, and American Crafts goodies.  I went with a clean and simple approach on this layout and then added some hand stitching for extra oomph! I enjoyed the uniqueness of the big letters in this kit - it was different but fun to think a little out of the traditional box!

On to Day Two - which I actually did in two layouts because it had two different locations, experiences.  Basically too much for one day! So this layout is one of my faves from this month's creations!  I actually created the circle background using fussy cut chevrons.  That was super fun and I was so pleased with how it came together! Stay tuned for a full tutorial soon!  This one was made with the Main Kit which was packed with Carta Bella & Pink Paislee.  This was actually one of my favorite kits in my six months with My Creative Scrapbook.  Such cool embellishments and colors!
Definitely check it out before it sells out!

Paper House Productions "Gatsby" ColorWays gift set

I shared a layout using the new ColorWays Gatsby line with you last week.  Today I have two more new projects using it that work together great as a gift set.
I cut out this gift bag on my Silhouette Cameo and then covered it up with patterned paper.  I added a different paper to the flap to add some extra dimension to it.  I also used a rub-on for the sentiment (You Dazzle Me) and some accent pieces to decorate the bag.

This card was simple to make thanks to the Accents pack from the Gatsby line.  The base is patterned paper but the layers are all from the accent pack - including the background, the "shine bright" sentiment and the diamonds and triangles.

I can't wait to see the amazing creations coming up from both the Paper House Productions Design Team and all of you using this new line.  It is truly spectacular!

String Art Layout & Giveaway Winner

I'm up today with a new layout at JustNick.  I played with the string art technique for this one and just love how it turned out!
I cut out the Sunburst Background File with white cardstock.  Then I backed each sunburst with orange and yellow patterned papers.

I then created string art between the rays (more details on the JustNick blog) and stitched around each sunburst.  This was very time consuming but totally worth it for the end result.  I did it in the car while we were roadtripping....made the time pass much more quickly!

Supplies Used:
Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Design
Buttons: Doodlebug Design
Floss: SRM Stickers
Stickers: Doodlebug Design

Now on to the big winner from my Giveaway of the SRM Gift Certificate!
Congrats to: Heidi Ingalls!  Heidi email me at practicalscrappers@gmail.com and I will get you all set up!

Christmas in July (a day late) tags & bags!

Yesterday we were busy celebrating Susan's birthday so today I am sharing my project that was on the SRM blog! I'm not gonna lie, I kind of love thinking about Christmas in July (and August too :))!  Christmas is my favorite time of year, so given the chance I will craft it in the off season too!  Today I am going to show you how I took some new products from SRM to make some Christmas goodies!
First up some Christmas tags on the new Canvas Tags!
This was super simple to make!  I used regular black ink and my stamps. The new 'Tis the Season stamps were perfect for this! I then colored it in with a permanent marker (nothing fancy). I also added Stamped Stitches to the tag just to add a little something extra. Could not be any more simple and will add a great personalized touch to my gifts!

I also did one with the reindeer stamp from the set - he was a little trickier because there were a lot more details but he still turned out cute!

Now this simple technique doesn't just work for our canvas tags!  It also works on the new Linen Bags!  I used a 3"X 5" Rustic Linen Bag and I did a very similar design as my tree tag but did it on a bag.
How perfect will this be to stick a gift card or other tiny gift in?  Handmade with a personal touch always makes the gift even more special!
