Cards for Boys

No I have not been doing any crafting since Baby Bo's arrival, but I held some atuff back so I could keep the blog going.  Today I am going to share a couple of Boy cards featuring goodies from Bella Blvd.    The first is from the new Birthday Boy line.

And the second is from their sports line.

I added the yellow highlighting to this to put emphasis on the ALL part :)
It feels weird to not have touched a supply in two weeks.  Monday I go pick up my next assignment for The Scrapbooking Studio and I have a feeling it will be hard to resist playing :)

Quick Quotes Argyle Club Q Layout

Hi Quick Quotes Fans! Christine back with you today with another Club Q Project!  I created a fun layout about my little boy to share with you.  I was so excited about all the vellum in this kit and decided to change it up and make it a little more masculine by using it to create an argyle background.

You don't even really notice the flowers anymore!  To create my background I cut four inch squares from the vellum and then just placed them down in the diamon shape.  The lighter brown ribbon was the perfect match to create the X.  I did lots of tearing and doodling to add some interest to the dark background.

Supplies Used:
White Pen
Title Sticker from Momenta

Welcome to the World Bo!

We welcomed our new little boy on Sunday afternoon!  His name is Boaz Roger and we are loving every minute of him!  His name comes from the Biblical story of Ruth and was a last minute decision after a Bible Study with friends last week.  Boaz was an amazing example of love an sacrifice.  If you want to check out the story you can find it here:  We will call him Bo...we're nickname people.  I will be on a little break from scrappy blogging while I soak up my time with our little guy!

Mitered Edges Layout

How about another bright Lucy layout?  I was running low on patterned paper to complete this I created strips and went nuts with mitered edges!

I did a lot of doodling and outlining on this with my black marker just to make sure there were some boundaries between all the patterns!  I did learn a lesson in doing it though...outlining is hard to do late at night :)  I'm finding that outlining is becoming a regular go to technique for me so you may be seeing a lot of it in the near future (:

Sunshine & Happiness

A few weeks back I hinted at that I had created a layout that was possibly my favorite ever...Here it is!

I love to work with bright colors and fussy cut and I think this layout showcases just that!  I spend a LONG time cutting out all of those clouds and then machine stitched them together.  My original intention was to create a garland with them to drape at the top of the layout.  But when I layed them atop that purple Bazill paper I knew they had to be my border!  All the paper and embellishments are from Bella Blvd except for the background purple.  I think I am gonna need to pull out this cheery summer layout in the upcoming winter months!

Two bright and cheery cards

I have had some serious end of pregnancy mojo going and have a couple of cards to share today!

I fussy cut that fun little hippo and his first present and then cut a couple more presents to add on top.  That all came from Bella Blvd's new birthday girl line.  I created the background for the card with strips of washi tape...I am starting to get very hooked on that!

Similar color scheme to the last card but obviously a different audience.  I decided to punch circles from patterned paper that matched the "sisters" chipboard sentiment.  I then used those circles to create scallop ruffles. Who doesn't love bright, cheery ruffles?  All supplies used in both cards are from Bella Blvd!

Monogram.Baseball Nursery Decor

I am up on the Momenta blog today for one last post before they transition away from blog into other social media outlets.  Here's my final creation; a monogram baseball frame!  Don't you just love a good glue runner?  Today I have a project to share with you featuring the Xyron Mega Glue awesome adhesive tool!

I used it to adhere everything on both the inside and the outside of my monogram frame and it has held together fabulously!

This runner speeds things up and holds everything together just like you want it to!

Peace be with You: A Sympathy Card

Loving those SRM stickers and decided to try my hand at making a sympathy card with one of their Faith stickers.  I don't make a lot of sympathy cards...but I thought this Amy Tan cloud paper was perfect for one.

I started off without the yellow but decided even a sympathy card needs a pop of color...I think it communicates a nice amount of hope without making it perky (:

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Bazill
Patterned Paper: Amy Tan
Stickers: SRM Stickers (borders and sentiment)
Gems: Queen & Co
Butterfly: Studio Calico

Butterflies and floss

Are you ready for some more navy from me?  This card combines navy and pink...seriously is there anything navy doesn't look great with?

I used a chipboard heart that I covered with some gorgeous Jillibean Soup and then did some geometric stringing with some navy floss and lots of scotch tape on the back :). I love the added dimension from the fussy cut butterflies too!

Weird title right!?!  We call my youngest son "Chomper" because he's always been a bit of a bulldozer.  We probably actually call him that more than we call him Cooper.  So this is something that absolutely must be documented because eventually that nickname will probably fade.

I used primarily goodies from Jillibean Soup on this one and did lots of hand cutting.  I created the banner and clouds on my own.  The triangle background is from all different patterned papers.

Supplies Used:
Everything is Jillibean Soup except the yellow patterned paper which is Momenta and the clothespins which are Maya Road.

Quilted Jillibean Soup Layout

Okay so hands down this layout took me longer to make than anything I have ever made.  But when you are waiting around on a baby...

I set out to make it quilt like but not all the same...that took a lot of playing around with shapes.  I created a different pattern in each section so that it would essentially frame the picture.  Then once I finished the actual placement I did some doodling and machine stitching.  The last step was to figure out how to embellish it without overdoing it because let's face it, there's a lot going on here!  Ah I love combining patterned papers!
Supplies Used:
Patterned Papers: Jillibean Soup, Pink Paislee
Stickers: Jillibean Soup
Toothpicks: October Afternoon
Twine: Jillibean Soup
Ribbon: American Crafts

Unbeatable Color Combo

A couple months ago I saw some gift bags at Target that had a color scheme that included Kraft, Navy Blue, Khaki, and White.  I loved it the minute I saw it.  If you have been following me lately, you know I am pretty hooked on navy combined with anything!
While I have been busy working away on creating design team projects, design team apps, magazine submissions, etc;I have had this combination in my head!  My first set of projects for The Scrapbooking Studio included some coral cardstock as well as some Kraft designs from Echo Park.  I had been looking at my Bella Blvd navy Sophisticates paper and last night decided to pull them all together, FINALLY!  Hokey doodle did that ever come together.  This might be one of my all time favorite cards...between the colors, the doily, the chevrons, the sentiment...oy!

Supplies Used:
Patterned Paper by Bella Blvd & Echo Park
Cardstock by Bazill
Doily & Ribbon are from the stash

Keep Calm...

I've been doing lots of playing lately, just creating things that aren't for a design team assignment or publication but just for trying out some new technique or trend that I have seen.  This card I wanted to play with negative space and set out to do just that.  I used papers mostly from Jillibean Soup that were in my scrap stash.  I'm digging all the stripes and how they come together to compliment each other!
Supplies Used:
Stickers by Momenta & Jillibean Soup
Buttons by Maya Road & Jillibean Soup
Papers by Jillibean Soup
